Hi. My two USB 3.0 ports stopped working when I upgraded to windows 10. They still give power for charging things bu the computer dont respond to anything I plug in. In systems it's shown as 'Texas Instruments 3.0 xHCI Host Controller. Sep 1, 2016 - I have a Renesas USB 3.0 Extensible Host Controller 1.0 (Microsoft) It. The driver is by Microsoft and gives no hint to what is a code 43 error. Attached is a picture of how my Device Manager currently looks. Both of my USB ports do not work. (Upon restart or USB re-entry, a pop-up comes up with 'USB Device Not Recognized'). Under the host controller's properties: 'This device cannot start (code 10)'. Units has stopped problem reported (code 43) Driver: Device Type:Universal Serial Bus controllers. Manufacturer: (Standard USB Host Controller) Location: Port_#0002.Hub_#0001. Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) A request for the USB device descriptor failed. Device USB VID_0000&PID_0002 5&291db893&0&2 was configured. Date 2015-07-17 Device Manager always reports the SuperSpeed has a problem. I have tried uninstalling, updating drivers and a Win 10 online reinstall (repair upgrade?). I installed Win 7 to a spare drive and it finds no USB problems. Also, in Dev Mgr, Win 7 does list a SuperSpeed. I attached snips of USB. Microsoft NA Free Driver Download. (Code 43)' but when i try and update my drivers it will not allow me as these are the most recent drivers and the roll back driver will also not work as these are the only drivers on my pc. Is there a new driver or something?

In the meantime, let's try these steps here: Perform a Hard reset on the notebook: Many startup errors and other problems can be resolved by decreasing the amount of power stored in hardware components. Decreasing stored power is sometimes referred to as a 'Hard Reset'. Use the following steps to perform a hard reset on a computer: Standard Openhcd Usb Host ControllerNext thing, I would suggest here is to update the Bios and Chipset dirvers on your PC from our HP support website, using this link. Alternatively you can try to run a test on the USB port from F2 which is under component test (Please capture the failure ID for further assistance). If the issue persists, I would suggest here is to roll back the drivers
Note: If the USB ports still do not work, the wires connecting the USB board to the motherboard USB pins might not be securely connected.
